Finding your Divine Purpose

This is the final installment of the The Four Spiritual Laws of Properity, written by Edwene Gaines.  Finding and living your divine purpose is by far the hardest element of all four laws.  We can choose to tithe or not (law number one), we can change our attitude and begin to forgive or not (law number two), we can choose to have the disclipline to set our goals on paper (law number three), but actually determining and applying your divine purpose is an extremely scary endeavor.  Most of the people I know struggle with trying to define what their divine purpose is.  Edwene defines Divine Purpose as to what brings out the Passion in our heart when we are involved in doing it.  It’s taken me years of experience and application to realize that I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE working with people.  I am in my glory when I can be in quiet engagement with another about something that I can help share an idea or thought that will stimulate an answer for them.  When the lightbulb suddenly comes on in that person’s eyes, or I hear the gratitude of sharing advise or support, I feel fantastic.  I am ecstatic when I hear later of the positive results that person may be experiencing because of putting action into in play.  In my role as counselor, advisor, mentor, coach…. I am living my divine purpose.  I know I was meant to be doing this in life. 

What is YOUR divine purpose?  What brings a deep sense of internal satisfaction in your life when you are doing it?  When you are engaged in your divine purpose you should honestly be feeling like this is FUN (another key indicator).  Living your divine purpose is “….NOT about martyrdom or great personal sacrifice.  It is about focus, joy, and a sense of purposeful possible achievement.”

Edwene offers several questions that can help you focus on what that divine purpose can be in your life:

1.  What one issue seems most important to me?

2.  What would be the perfect solution to this challenge?

3.  Can I visualize it and see it clearly in my mind’s eye?

4.  Can I write a description of what it would look like if the transformative work were complete and perfect?

5.  What do I need to know/have/be in order to begin?

6.  Is it time to go back to school; read the books, study with the experts, or learn the realities of the problems from those who have gone before?

7.  Is it time to do the research, the investigation, and the questioning?

8.  What is my first step, and how soon am I going to take it?

9.  Am I willing to do what it takes?

10.  Will I commit to staying the course, working in integrity, and standing alone in my mission if necessary?

“What did you come to Earth to do?  Whatever it is, it’s time to start doing it.”  To quote Goethe, “Whatever you can do or dream you can, begin it.  Boldness has genius, power and magic in it.  Begin it now!” 

So there is the challenge.  You can have Prosperity, abundance in your life by taking steps to applying a different way of being that may cause temporary discomfort, require learning new habits, getting out of our comfort zones.  But the richness of having an abundant life, living in integrity with God, and knowing that all will be provided to you so long as you give glory to God and apply the spiritual laws in your life, is a door and a life very much worth taking.
