Your Words are magical

It is amazing how often we say things that sometimes we later regret.  What comes out of our mouths often are not carefully thought through but instinctual feelings that are expressed without any prewarning.  Sometimes our words have wonderful affect like when we sincerely compliment another, but many times our words can hurt others, even when the intention was not there to hurt.

But the power of our words goes way beyond the immediate impact it has on those we are speaking to.  Our words reflect our inner truths about what we think and believe. Those subconscience beliefs that we have internalized as our truths will spill from our mouths as we express our opinions, as we defend our points of view, and as we try to communicate who we are to others.  The sad reality is that so many times these words are sad echoes of past hurts, of beliefs others may have instilled in us as children, or darken clarifications of our perceived inadequacies.  “And we hold these truths to be self evident…”  How often we hear the internal voice that continues to criticize the way we think, the way we dress, the way we work, the relationships we form.  Everything in our lives are external manifestations of the voice inside.

Just a few days ago a friend relayed a story of a co-worker who when a substantial financial opportunity did not come to fruition in the timeline that was expected, expressed the words, “I knew this was too good to be true”.  My friend, a student of the Laws of Prosperity, knew better then to express such a hopeless state of mind.  She understands that the timing of what we want and expect may not always coincide with the timing that things are meant to happen.  But she is also wise enough to know that the financial dealing will happen for her client and herself.  It just will take a little more time.  She also knows that for her co-worker the profit from this deal will probably elude her just because this is what is expected.

Whether we are aware of it or not, we are continuing to attract our life outcomes each and everyday.  This is the Law of Attraction at work, and the words we say to ourselves and others lay the groundwork for our future experiences.   Debbie Friedman, an authority in the science behind the Law of Attraction confirms this important understanding.

So how do you change that internal voice if it’s not telling you what you want it to say?  What do you do if you want a different belief about the life you want to live?  I have found that through affirmations clearly stated each day slowly over time begin to change those internal beliefs.  You may feel that by being positive and reading good words this should be enough to start those changes but believe me when I tell you that years, a lifetime, of conditioning to believe otherwise is not going to change that easily or quickly.  You need to be diligent in the daily speaking of the affirmations that will change your thinking and your subconscious (where your inner voice lives).

Some of my favorite affirmations are as follows.  Please feel free to use them or adapt them as you feel would best suit you.  The majority of my affirmations are taken from the works of Catherine Ponder, my mentor.

Today and everyday I expect the best.  Wonderful things are happening to me now.  Everything I do turns into good for myself and others.  Wonderful things are bound to happen and they do.

New doors of good now open to me, and with a confident spirit, I go forth into a life of health, happiness, security and abundant living, in God’s own wonderful way now.

I clearly see the prosperity of my new life now.  My life is free, glad, and powerful.  Blessed good is coming to me now.  Right people, right place, right possessions, right prosperity appear now.
