The Mental Acceptance of Prosperity

“Those who cannot mentally accept greater abundance never experience it. This explains why, after taking up the study of prosperous thinking, some people get results while others do not. Those who are successful in the use of the Prosperity Law of Mental Acceptance are those who: (1) dare to release the past, and (2) then mentally accept the possibility of something better for themselves. Those who hang on to the past and reject their longed-for good never get it”. The Millionaire Joshua, Catherine Ponder.

These are powerful words to really grasp.  Dare to release the past.  What exactly does that mean.  If taken in its full context it means letting go of everything we’ve been hanging onto in our minds and the core of ourselves, to fully embrace a new way of thinking and being.  This means, dear reader, EVERYTHING!  It means you need to release old biases, old destructive habits, old resentments, old grudges, old “stories” of how you were the victim in the outcome of some prior relationship, old fears of money and not having enough, old attitudes that “wealth could never be mine under the current conditions”, the thought “I would have to win the lottery to have the wealth I really want”, “I need to marry it… to have it”, “my parents never had much so I’m destined to be in the same boat”, “there’s no way I can ever get out of the situation I’m in”, “I can’t forgive that ***!!!??@ for ruining my life”, etc. etc. etc.

Are you really ready to let all that go?  You will need to do that to begin to have your mind (your conscious and subconscious mind) ready to allow new beliefs and expectations to become part of you.  Yes, I am talking about the internal work you need to do first before the abundance of life can really be part of your life on a continuing on-going basis.  What?  You thought this was going to be easy??  Well, I’m sorry to have to tell you that you are going to have to make dramatic shifts in your personal way of being before you get to enter your personal “promised land”.  Daring to change who you are and your beliefs is the hardest most demanding thing you will ever be asked to do.  Is it possible — absolutely.  Will it happen overnight – NO!  This is an on-going growth process that you will need to make a solemn commitment to if you want to have an incredible life.

I know many of you are sitting there feeling a little defeated in the thought that this has to happen first before great abundance becomes your normal way of being.  But look at it this way.  I hope you have expectations of living a long healthy life.  If you do then you have time to do the work that is required.  It’s just making the mental shift of wanting a great life regardless of what you need to do and however long a time it takes to get there.  I believe for most the “forgiveness” process (part one) that you will need to work on will probably be the hard part.  Forgiveness doesn’t mean you have to call (email or write or text) any of those that you have still lingering bitter thoughts about.  It means that you need to forgive them in your words and prayers (affirmations) everyday.  I will supply you with some of these forgiveness affirmations that you can use.  If you feel compelled to actually talk to some of the folks that you are harboring resentments with and are causing you great internal concern about — then I say please do so.  Your “reaching out” will result in so much of the old pain to be wiped away.  But please do some of the forgiveness work for a while before you choose to make real contact with them.  It will make all the difference in the world.

I have other affirmations for putting part two in place in your mind.  Daring to believe you can have greater happiness in your life.  Much of what I write about in this blog addresses this.  You have to create the picture of what you want — YOUR picture of abundance for YOUR life.  This is not what abundance would look like for Donald Trump or Bill Gates.  This is what abundance would look like for YOU.  Be real about what would make you delightfully happy, not what someone else thinks you should have or be or do.  If someone thought I’d be “tickled” with having a large yacht — they’d be wrong.  Don’t need it – don’t want it.  In my blog entitled, The Present of Dreaming, I cover a number of practical exercises you can do to create the picture of your desired life.

I want to make clear that having an abundant life also means having a great inner sense of peace.  This sense of peace is the greatest gift you can give yourself.  Imagine never feeling fear again.  Never going to bed and tossing and turning with concerns about money, or relationship issues, or job concerns, or anything.  Knowing in your heart that everything is going to work itself out just the way it needs to.  This is part of living an abundant life.  I don’t know of anyone who doesn’t want to have this inner peace.  If you can accept that you are worthy of all of this — then know it is possible to achieve it.   Part two does require work on your part as you can well imagine.  But the work is so well worth it.

Affirmations for Forgiveness and letting go of the past.

Christ Jesus in me now frees me from all resentments and hurts toward people, places or things of the past and present.  Christ Jesus in me now frees me from all resentment from people, places or things of the past or present.  I pray that I am forgiven by those I have hurt in the past or present.  I forgive everyone and anyone who has hurt me in the past or present, including myself.  I lose and let go of any bad feelings and release them to their higher good.  Christ in me is my forgiving power.

I fully and freely release any and all resentments and hurts I carry within.  I loose and let go.  I let go and grow.  I let go and trust.

I take only the good from each experience.  I let the rest go and my progress is swift, happy and certain.

I referenced Catherine Ponder’s book, The Millionaire Joshua, because Ponder does a wonderful job in illustrating how Joshua, who was used by God to bring the Israelites from 40 years of living in the desert into the promised land in just three days, highlights the importance of mental acceptance.  I would strongly recommend reading this book to fully grasp how powerful mental acceptance determines the course of our lives.  I love this book because it also covers how powerfully Joshua’s trust in believing God made the greatest historical move of nations ever accomplished in the history of the world.

After you have completed picturing your good through the exercises found in my blog, The Present of Dreaming, you’ll be ready to begin to start the internal work necessary to manifest your higher good.  Here are some of my favorite affirmations that begin to strengthen the mind shift needed to start believing in obtaining an abundant life.

I do not depend upon persons or conditions for my good.  God is the source of my supply and God provides his own amazing channels of good to me now.

Of myself, I cannot do it, but Jesus Christ can and is performing miracles in my mind, body and affairs here and now.

I clearly see the prosperity of my new life now.  My life is free, glad, loving, joyful and powerful.  Blessed good is coming to me now.  Right people, right place, right possessions, right prosperity appear now.

New doors of good now open to me, and with a confident spirit, I go forth into a life of health, happiness, love, joy, security and abundant living, in God’s own wonderful way now.
