Learn to Trust Me

I read several daily devotionals in the course of what I call my “prayer work” each day.  One of these devotionals is titled:  “Jesus Calling: a 365-Day Journaling Devotional” written by Sarah Young.  On May 7 the following was written:

“If you learn to trust Me- really trust Me- with your whole being, then nothing can separate you from My Peace.  Everything you endure can be put to good use by allowing it to train you in trusting Me.  This is how you foil the works of evil, growing in grace through the very adversity that was meant to harm you.  Joseph was a prime example of this divine reversal, declaring to his brothers (who sold him into slavery because of envy of their brother) ‘You meant evil against me, but God meant it for good.’

Do not fear what this day, or any day, may bring your way.  Concentrate on trusting Me and on doing what needs to be done.  Relax in My sovereignty, remembering that I go before you, as well as with you, into each day.  FEAR NO EVIL, for I can bring good out of every situation you will ever encounter.” (Genesis 50:20; Psalm 23:4)

These words resonated so real to me.  I have undergone several years of severe challenges in my life that I would not have survived without having complete trust in God to have gotten me through them.  Over the last two plus years I have lost a husband, a home, a thriving business, financial assets, and had to rebuild my life over again after undergoing three brain surgeries.  Have I had my challenges — you bet I have.  But because I have complete 100% faith and trust in God to get me through all of this I have not just survived all this adversity – but I have thrived.

I created this blog so that all of you can learn that you can get through ANYTHING happening in your life if your faith and trust is strong.  Most of us have some level of faith in God.  But the TRUST part is often the hardest thing for us to deal with.  It is the TRUST part that makes all the difference in the world between experiencing sadness, defeat, despair and depression and instead feeling peace, joy, optimism and happiness in your world.  Is it easy to have complete trust in God?  No, nothing is easy.  It takes a daily conversation, a daily effort to continue going forth giving praise and love to God.  It means giving up control and asking HIM to guide you when you can’t see HOW you are ever going to get through the situation(s) facing you.  You CAN get through – you just have to keep believing God is hearing you and will provide the answers to your prayers.  When we don’t trust God and we think things are hopeless is when we can trip and fall into the pit of despair.  But, even if you are already in this pit — start to pray.  Start to praise.  Start that conversation.  God will listen to you and show you the way out of the pit.

My sincere desire, is that each you dear readers, learn how to have an incredible life by living it for GOD.
