Divine Love – Part II

Love is the one feeling that is needed by all human beings to survive.  Scientists have proven this fact over and over again through their research and experimentation of babies, human and of the animal persuasion, toddlers, and others and the effect of not receiving nuturing love in their lives and the negative impact that presents.  Adults who have difficulties in their lives often can trace many of their problems back to a sensing lack of love as children.  But even as adults with loving families how is it that finding and maintaining nuturing love in our lives is so difficult to do.

Dr. Wayne Dyer attributes many of our problems to our expectations of what others must do for us in order for us to feel loved by them.  As such, we often find that others fall short in meeting our expectations.   http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EXvtyK_xIWE .  In essence we are expecting that other person to be what we want them to be rather then accepting them just as they are.

Catherine Ponder writes in The Prospering Power of Love, “There is no reason for you to feel disillusioned or disappointed if love has seemingtly let you down or passed you by.  Those who bitterly declare that their lives are without love are mistakenly looking to someone or something outside themselves for love.  Begin realizing now that love is first WITHIN you and can be released through your thoughts, feelings, words, and actions.  As you begin developing love from within outward, you are truly proving that your method is spiritual, scientific, and satisfying.”

Making those most closest to us feel loved is critical to our sense of well being and internal peace.  When we have great communications and a sense of appreciation from our spouse, our children, our parents and our siblings, there isn’t much in the world you feel you can’t conquer.  Why?  Because you have a strong loving base that will alway be there for you regardless of what goes wrong or right in your world.

But what if we don’t have that strong of a family base to count on?  What if everything said to those most dearest to us seem to  always be taken  wrong.  What if a sense of impending gloom is what we feel when we are with those who should be our closest allies.  How can we change the atmosphere from one of frustration and apathy to one of joy and caring?  In other words how can we enhance the love in our lives.

Well, dear reader, the work must be undertaken by us not the other guy.  We have to be who we want that other person to be.  We have to change who we are to get who we want.  Dr. Wayne Dyer explains this concept http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=50Ql5w-YXBY when he talks about the need for us to be the change agent of our lives.  When we begin to act in a more accepting and loving manner then, and only then, will you see others respond in kind.
