Thankfulness

As we quickly approach another Thanksgiving we really do need to take some quiet private time to think through all that we have to be thankful for.  Unfortunately, there are many in our society that want to only have you focus on the negative and the ugly.  They walk around like “Chicken Little’s” bemoaning the state of the world and want everyone to join in in the harmony of displeasure.  All I can tell you, is don’t buy into this frame of mind and way of thinking.

If you choose to buy into the gloom and doom all you will perpetuate is more misery and unhappiness.  And guess who gets in dwell in the misery and unhappiness –  YOU do!

I made a conscious decision that I would never buy into someone else’s BS of the world being so miserable.  YOUR world may be miserable but I am hear to tell you MY world is fantastic.  In a personal time when life has toss me a pretty big curve ball I refuse to buy into the defeatism way of thinking.  Instead I believe and continue to daily practice a life fill with a Thankful Heart.  I am so very thankful I am alive and living in this great country.  I am so thankful I have a safe warm home.  I am so thankful I have my health when I could have died just a couple of years ago from two brain conditions and touch and go on what could have happen to me.  I am thankful that I have family and friends that are always willing to share their time and friendship with me.  I am thankful I have great readers of this blog that God kept “bugging” me about to create when I had no clue what a blog even was!  I am thankful for the many wonderful people I’ve met over the last two years when I decided to find a church that would lift my spirits and make me feel good vs. bad whenever I decided to attend.   I am thankful for living in the Northwestern part of the USA that is gorgeous anytime of the year (regardless of our greater need for rain to keep our greenery green!)  I am thankful that I was forced to slow down and really look for another way of living my life beyond looking for success through the typical avenues of corporate and business life.  I am thankful for everyday that I can walk with God and have more time to study His word and get to know Him in a much more deeper and personal way.

Do I have lots to be thankful for — absolutely.  And so do you, dear reader.  You just need to sit down and look at all the blessings in your life.  Do you want more?  I can’t hammer it enough times — that the answer to all that you want is just in the asking.  Take a moment to decide what you want and than thank God for allowing you to have it.  But this is more then just a one day process.  This has to become an everyday affair.  Do you want a great life?  Ask God and listen to what He says to you.  You can have it all — you just have to believe and be thankful.

Let us come into his presence with Thanksgiving; let us make a joyful noise to him with songs of praise!  –  Psalm 95.2

“Don’t worry about anything, but pray about everything.  With thankful hearts offer up your prayers and requests to God.  Then, because you belong to Christ Jesus, God will bless you with peace that no one can completely understand.  And this peace will control the way you think and feel.”  –  Philippians 4:6-7
